Shiny Entertainment deserves a lot of credit for designing a game that presents a unique brand of tongue-in-cheek style of gameplay. But the thing that sets Earthworm Jim apart from most arcade titles is that it features some of the most bizarre, challenging and hilarious antics in a side-scroller. Sure, you jump around a lot, collecting things, working your way through mazes, and shooting tons of bad guys before you move on to the next level for more of the same. Isn’t Earthworm Jim just another side-scrolling platformer? Yes and no.
